A clinical observation was made on 31 cases of Complete Rectal Prolapse at the Capital Army Hospital and 57th Army Evac. Hosp. during the past 5 and a half years from Jan. 1963 to Apr. 1968.
1) Corrective operation for the Rectal Prolapse was carried out on 31 cases.
2) Of 31 cases of Complete Rectal Prolapse, Orr¢¥s operation was carried out on 17 cases with recurrence in 2 cases among 8 cases traced for two years or longer.
3) Rehn-Delorme¢¥s operation was carried on 9 cases with recurrence in 2 cases among 5 cases traced for two years or longer.
4) And one stage abdominal resection of Sigmoid Colon was carried out on 5 cases traced for one year or longer without recurrence.
5) This suggest that abdominal Resection of Sigmoid Colon for complete Rectal Prolapse is one of the most effective surgical therapy.
